Lincs Little Hens is a new independent hen rescuing and rehoming organisation.

We are devoted animal lovers and have previously been local coordinators for another rescue organisation but felt it was time to "go it alone" as we have our own opinions and ideas and wanted to spread our wings in Lincolnshire and into the East Midlands.

You can contact us directly on lincslittlehens@aol.com or call 0845 017 9422 (please, please leave a message if no reply as we may be busy with the animals here. We WILL call you back. (We do not call back numbers of people who just hang up)

Each hen costs a fixed donation of £2.00 and any extra donations are ALWAYS appreciated and go directly to being able to rescue more hens next time by purchasing more crates and trailers etc...

Our mobile number is 07500 693 207 (should you need us but please bear in mind we are VERY busy during the day).

Click HERE to see where the Sutton Bridge collection point is. Times MUST be pre booked as this is just a side road off the A17 with no facilities other than safety from passing heavy traffic. The hens will just be brought to this point to meet with you so please be prompt to your agreed collection time.

If you do not turn up, your hens will be allocated to the first person on our reserve list and you will have to re-book. We will not board your hens for a few days as this will cause us and OUR hens disruption and you may not turn up again.

We will be happy to clip long claws and wings if necessary (but usually it's not necessary) and discuss and worries or concerns you may have and we ALWAYS carry advice sheets in our vehicle to help you ensure your hens settle in easier. We will also give you a rehoming pack with lots of valuable information and contact numbers in.

If you require any food for your hens, please order when booking your hens. Please see our shop page for prices of items. We will bring it to the collection point with your hens. A 20kg sack of layers meal (commonly known as mash) which they are used to eating costs £7 directly from Little Hen Rescue. You can gradually introduce new foods once your hens have settled in.

Please be patient if awaiting an email reply from us. We are a handful of volunteers and have family and animals. We have to work around the limitations of family life and the resident hens and other animals in our care. We will let you know once you have a booking in slot. Once we have allocated all the hens, all we can do is await the next rescue which will be soon. If you have received an email from us asking for your booking in details, if you still supply them, we will put you at the top of our next list.

As soon as we have another confirmed date for a rescue (We rely on getting the go-ahead from the farmers), and we know how many hens we are able to bring back, we can start booking people in again. We are currently seeking more farmers to deal with us and finding out when they plan to discard a batch of hens.

We always deal with messages on a first come, first served basis, whilst caring for hens, guinea pigs, other animals and our families at the same time.
